Vehicle Basic Search
Introduction:
The Basic Search API is a RESTful web service that allows you to search for vehicle registration details in India. The API provides an easy and convenient way to access information related to a vehicle's registration number, including the registration number, status, state, registered location, insurance, tax details, pollution certificate, and other relevant information.
This API endpoint accepts a POST request with a JSON payload containing the registration number of the vehicle and returns a JSON response containing the vehicle details if the registration number is found in the database. If the registration number is not found, the API will return a JSON response indicating the failure.
The Basic Search API is secured with an authorization token that needs to be passed in the header of the request. Please refer to the Authorization section for more details on how to obtain the authorization token.
When to Use Basic Search Over Detailed Search
The Signzy Basic Search API provides basic details about a vehicle based on its registration number. This API is optimized for fast response times. This makes it ideal for use cases where fast access to basic information about a vehicle is required.
Here are some scenarios where you should consider using the Basic Search API instead of the Detailed Search API:
1. Insurance Proposals
Insurance companies require basic details about a vehicle to create proposals on their portals. This typically includes details like the registration number, make and model, and insurance expiry date. Since the Basic Search API provides all of these details and has fast response times, it is an ideal choice for insurance companies.
2. Quick Lookups
If you need to quickly look up basic details about a vehicle, the Basic Search API is the way to go. Since it has fast response times and provides all the essential details about a vehicle, it's perfect for cases where you don't need a lot of detailed information.
3. Low Bandwidth Scenarios
If you are operating in a low bandwidth scenario, where network connectivity is limited, the Basic Search API is a good choice. Since it provides only basic details about a vehicle, the amount of data transferred is minimal, which can be helpful when network bandwidth is limited.
4. Real-time Applications
Real-time applications like vehicle tracking or location-based services require fast response times. Since the Basic Search API has a median response time of less than 100ms and a 99th percentile response time of 500ms, it's an excellent choice for these use cases.
