ICEGATE IEC Detail Search
API Introduction
The IEC Details Validation API enables real-time verification of an Importer Exporter Code (IEC) against the ICEGATE registry. It allows users to confirm whether a business is authorized to conduct import–export activities in India and to understand the current regulatory status of the IEC.
The API provides:
- Validation of IEC authenticity
- Current IEC lifecycle status
- Registered entity details and branch locations (where available)
This API is commonly used in KYB, trade compliance, onboarding, and risk-assessment workflows to reduce regulatory exposure and ensure adherence to import–export regulations.
Use Cases
- Importer / Exporter Validation: Verify IEC status prior to onboarding or transaction approval.
- Trade Compliance Checks: Identify suspended, cancelled, or blacklisted IECs before enabling trade activity.
- Risk Screening: Use IEC status as a regulatory signal alongside PAN, GST, and other business identifiers.
- Operational Due Diligence: Validate exporter/importer credentials during partner or vendor onboarding.
