Guide to Use Vehicle Price APIs
Overview
The vehicle Price APIs by Signzy offers client to understand the price of a vehicle by providing the parameters such as manufacturer name, model name, model year, transaction type, kilometers driven etc. This article would help you to understand, how you can use the APIs to find the price of new and old vehicle. It supports motorcycles, car and scooters
The API has three main endpoints
- Vehicle Catalogue : The API helps is validating the supported manufacturers and models. By using this API, client can verify the whether the provided vehicle and their details are supported by the API or not. This API can be used even if all parametes are not passed. The first where the all parameters are passed, others are where some paramters are passed starting from manufacturer name.
- New Vehicle Price: The new vehicle price API, can provde the price of new vehicles that are launched in current year. By providing the manufacturer name, model, trim and city it would give the price of the vehicle and break up of its on road price.
- Vehicle previous owners detail api: The old vehicle price API, works like new vehicle price API. It takes some additional parameters as input which are kilometer driven, model year, customer type and transaction type. This provides the price of vehicle under excellent, very good, good and fair condition.
Using Catalogue API for vehicle details check
Catalogue API can help in validating whether particular model or manufacturer is supported by the vehicle price APIs. It can also help to see whether the values provided in input are valid or not. To do this, we can by following ways:
- By passing empty inputs in API call: By using this, client would receive a json response that would contain all the supported manufacturers and models along with their variant for each year.
- By providing manufacturer name: By providing these details we can filter, on one manufactuer and models supported by us.
- Passing all parameters in API call: By passing all the paramters, one could understand whether we could verify if the trims are available for the particular maufacturer, model and year. The client would receive a json response which would be a list of all trims supported for the passed values.
Sample response by API
- Success
Input:
data-raw '{
"manufacturerName": "Maruti Suzuki",
"modelName": "Swift",
"year": "2020"
}'Output:
{
"result": [
"LXI LIMITED EDITION",
"VDI",
"VXI AGS LIMITED EDITION",
"VXI AMT",
"VXI LIMITED EDITION",
"ZXI AGS LIMITED EDITION",
"ZXI LIMITED EDITION",
"ZXI PLUS AGS LIMITED EDITION",
"ZXI Plus AMT",
"ZXI PLUS LIMITED EDITION"
]
}2. Failed
Input:
data-raw '{
"manufacturerName": "Maruthi Suzuki",
"modelName": "Swift",
"year": "2020"
}'Output:
{
"error": {
"name": "error",
"message": "Data not found for this input, check input body",
"status": 404,
"reason": "BAD_INPUT",
"type": "Not Found",
"statusCode": 200
}
}In the second case, we provided Maruthi instead of Maruti, which caused the API failed to search for this vehicle. Hence, before, hitting the vehicle price APIs we could check here for each API input and then call the price API which are validated by catalogue API.
The API would help to identify such cases where the vehicle price APIs wouldn't be able to give proper response to passed vehicle details in the input parameters. This would help to reduce the API calls that would not give the success response because of input validation errors.
