Fastag Details API

Overview

FASTag is an electronic toll collection system in India, operated by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). It employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid or postpaid account linked to it. Mounted on the vehicle's windshield, the FASTag enables drivers to bypass toll booths and proceed through without stopping for transactions. This system is part of the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) program aimed at digitizing toll payments, reducing congestion, and ensuring seamless movement of traffic. By automating toll deductions, FASTag facilitates non-stop vehicle movement, improves highway fuel efficiency, and reduces air pollution. It's mandatory for all new and existing vehicles, making it an integral component of the road transport ecosystem in India.
